I was able to take a few minutes and scrapbook a page yesterday! It felt so good to actually digi scrap!! I haven't been able to do that in such a long time since things are always so busy. A New Kit!

I think I always start each post off with, "Well, I'm finally back to my blog" or "I know it's been a while since I posted..."! I always seem forget about my little part of the internet world!

I've been busy with a lot of things lately. One being creating new designs for 2 Peas in a Bucket! I absolute love being over there designing digital stuff for them! If you haven't had a chance to check them out, click here and see what you've been missing!

Here's my latest kit called LOVEly Doodles Kit! It has a wide array of beautiful papers and gorgeous elements! I even included a lower case, upper case and limited punctuation polky dot Alpha that is a lot of fun!!

New Christmas Magic Kit Release!

I've been hard at work doodling a new kit called Christmas Magic available at my Two Peas Store! Well, this has been an exciting couple of weeks! First of all, Owl Tree Studios has come out with some gorgeous new kits for the month of September! So to go along with this, my first bit of exciting news is... I'm one of the Guest Designers at Owl Tree! I've created a fun, bright colored kit called Field Trip that can be used for anything from fall field trips to summer beach photos! I also have some fun papers and elements in the School Collaboration kit and a versatile element kit full of stitches for use anywhere you need a bit of something extra! The 3 main designers at Owl Tree; Jenn Balding (Girl Boy Girl Designs), Shirley Woodard (Wild Blueberry Ink) and Linda Tieu (Torta Gialla) have also been very busy with some amazing kits for this month! Monday I started a new class at Jessica Sprague - Computer Tricks for Cards! I'm trying to set a little "me time" aside and thought this was the perfect way to do it. Yesterday I created this card by printing her template out and then tearing, inking and assembling it. I've never done much in the way of hybrid since I'm either doing all digital or all traditional, but I really enjoyed making this card! Might have to try a bit more of this hybrid stuff!

Little Dreamer Apprentice Program!

I haven't had time to post for the last couple of weeks so I figured I would combine them. I did end up making it to Round 3 and 4 of the Little Dreamer Apprentice Program, but ended up not making it to the Final Round! What a bummer! I was almost there! LOL! Oh well, I had a wonderful time, met some really cool people and learned a TON from Michelle Coleman - who is an outstanding designer!! I'm really proud of myself for making it that far! Round 3!! LITTLE DREAMER APPRENTICE PROGRAM!!!

I can't believe!!! I made it into Round 3 of the Little Dreamer Apprentice Program! This last week has been crazy and wonderful all at the same time. I've learned so much from Michelle at Little Dreamers in just one week and had an amazing time getting to know all the artists! This time we had to create 4 elements - one with glitter, one metal, one with stitching and then one of our choice. They will be posted soon on the Little Dreamers Site to download for free so when that happens I will let you know. I can't wait to find out what's in store for this upcoming week!

Easter Weekend

Hope everyone had a fantastic Easter Weekend! I started the weekend out over at Two Peas in a Bucket at their Online Crop Friday night. What a great time! It's always fast and furious and I can never believe how quickly the time goes by, but WOW - what a lot of fun! I only completed 2 of 4 challenges: the first one was using a template that Jen Martakis created and the other one was use one of your posts from Facebook/Twitter and create a layout. Both challenges were a blast and really made you think out of the box! Here's what I created Friday night:

The materials I used for this layout: template from Jen Martakis at Two Peas in a Bucket; paper, waves, bubbles, fish and sun from Julia Makotinsky at Little Dreamer Designs; the title letters, heart and tape were from Gina Marie Huff and Heidi Williams at Weeds and Wildflowers Design.

My second layout I finished (yes I was very slow Friday night!) is this:

This is the layout I created from one of my Facebook posts. I really like how it turned out! I think I will continue doing layouts from my FB posts from time to time. Materials for this layout were from all from Weeds and Wildflowers Design, except for the Vintage Frame which is something I created! :0) I've been working on some more digital artwork and I'll be posting some layouts soon that I've been using them on.

The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out with friends and family at a joint birthday party for my husband and I, watching my little ones hunt for eggs and their baskets, attending church Easter morning, lunch with my in-laws and then dinner at my mom and dad's. I love weekends like this when it's shared with friends and family!

The kids had a great time Easter morning running this way and that in a mad search for eggs and baskets! My littlest one is allergic to red dye in food and candy so we had to *email* the easter bunny to ask him to send stuff without red dye. When she found her basket, she was thrilled to find a chocolate bunny, organic suckers and hard candies, Tiger's Milk protein bars and a note pointing the kids to the freezer where they each found a little container of ice cream! She told me, "Mommy! The Easter Bunny got our email! I can eat everything!!" My husband, Steve, picked the kids out a couple of presents a couple of weeks ago when he was away for work. We asked the kids if they wanted us to hide their presents from Mom and Dad just like the Easter Bunny does and of course the answer was "Yes"! Luke, our oldest, loves to fish just like his dad so the gift Steve had picked out was a fishing pole. We ended up lying it on the dining room table, knowing that Luke would never think it was his! We were right! Took him about 10 minutes to realize that was HIS present! He's such a sweetheart!

Inspiration and New Ideas!

Hi All! It's been a while! I keep visiting some awesome blogs and I've been inspired to start my up again! I've also been working on some digital scrapbooking designs and have gotten really great response about them! I would love to be able to create for 2Peas or another amazing company, and thought this seems like the best way to promote my creations. I have so many ideas floating around in my head that and I'm really excited to start putting them into digital form! I've also been playing around with my blog design. I found this awesome site - www. shabbyblogs.com - and found this beautiful background! I also redid my header from my own elements - I really like how it came out. I'm going to be changing a few more things in the days to come.

I've been busy these last few days since my hubby is up at deer camp. Between hanging with my kids, laundry, dishes, school stuff, laundry, running, visiting with my sister-in-law who's staying with me from Cinci, and laundry it's been a fun but busy week! I haven't had time to work on any pages, however, I have been designing some more digital Christmas elements and papers. I've had so many wonderful comments about my Christmas Trees, that I thought I would try some more things! Drop me a comment and let me know what you think!

Friday the 13th

I've been absolutely horrible about bloggin and scrapping this weekend! I apologize! :0) Although I still do not have a new layout to show you (LOL!), I do have a crazy story. As you well know Friday was Friday the 13th. I didn't really think about this being the date until yesterday, but on Friday evening I was about a 1/4 of a mile from my house (we live in the country), heading into town to play in my weekly walleyball league. All of a sudden a deer jumps out in front of me and even though I slammed on the brakes, I hit it with the front passenger side of my car! I was totally fine, just a little scared, but my hood is bent up, the bumper is all cracked up and my radiator is leaking. This is the first time in my life I have ever hit anything (minus the raccoon who forgot to look both way before crossing the street) or have gotten in an accident so I guess my record is officially broken. My mom pointed out that Friday was Friday the 13th! And even though I'm not the least bit superstitious, I thought it was funny and had to share! Oh well! Life goes on!

Here is a layout I did a while ago, but I absolutely love it and with ski season just around the corner for us, I thought I would post it! Hope you like it!

Not Enough Time in the Day

I was going to finish my layout and planned on posting it this evening. Well obviously that didn't happen! LOL! However, I was able to fit in several other things that I wanted to do today!

This morning I attended the Coffee Pauses for Causes which is a local event in my town that happens every Tuesday morning and in which I'm on the Stirring Committee (Stirring is intentional!). It's a event which highlights a different local charity every week in which you can come and find out more about their cause and how to help. We also have coffee donated by different vendors every week and a Domestic Tip provided by community members highlighting special skills, recipes or crafts. Coffee is by donation and all proceeds go towards the charity of the week and an another local organization called Guardian Gals. Even though this was only the second week for Coffee Pauses the turnout has been wonderful! I'm excited to see what the future holds for this event!

I was also able to get to the gym. About 2 weeks ago I joined again after 2 years of being away and it's wonderful to be back! I'm a runner so I'm use to putting in long miles, however, it's nice to do some weightlifting and build the strength up in my old creaky knees.

I've also been working on some digital Christmas Elements to go along with my Christmas Trees. I don't know if it's anything that will interest people, but my mom likes them. And in the end that's all that really matters, right? - if mom likes them. :0) As soon as I finish my element kit I will post them. I haven't figured out how to put them up on my blog so you'll able to download them. I'll keep working on that.

Christmas Trees

I'm so not good at this blog thing. *sigh* I like the whole idea of it, but when it comes down to it, months go by and I realize that I haven't written in a while! :0) Oh well! Let's try this again! Things have been crazy this last month. My hubby was deployed to Egypt - this time for only 3 weeks, which was LOTS better than a year like the last time. He just got back 4 days ago and it's been SO nice to have him back! I also ran my 2nd Half Marathon! It was fantastic and I beat my last time by a minute! What a great time! My little ones are both going to school now. My oldest is in 1st grade and my little one is in preschool. They both love school and their teachers. :0)

I have been doing some digi scrapping and designing when time allows. I was recently asked to join Gina Marie Huff's Creative Team at Weeds and Wildflowers Design which is absolutely a dream come true since I LOVE her designs! If you haven't had a chance to check out Weeds and Wildflowers, you'll have to check them out - they are fantastic!

I've just completed some Christmas trees that I designed tonight while watching the Detroit Lions lose (again)! I really love them and can't wait to do some pages with them. Let me know what you think!

A cold rainy day...

This last weekend we went camping and had absolutely beautiful weather! We stayed at the beach all day on Friday and Saturday, rode bikes, went fishing, took walks and had plenty of s'mores. I was even able to fit in a 7 mile run - it was a gorgeous weekend! Today I'm looking outside and it's cold (I even kicked my furnace up - yes I am a wimp) and rainy and just plain yucky. My kids have been running crazy since we haven't had a rainy day in forever and I'm counting done the minutes until my little one goes down for a nap - she's been so cranky! One good thing about a rainy day though, is I've had some time today to redesign my blog and update it - the very same one that I promised myself that I was going to update frequently and not let it sit abandoned for months on end. So I'm recommiting myself to this project and we'll see how it goes the second time around.

I've also had time to work on my digi designs. I started designing a few fun papers, embellies and fonts and was really excited how they were coming out. As soon as I finish the first kit, I'll post it here so anyone who stops by can take a look at it. I have created one page with my designs that I wanted to share so here it is. Thanks for looking!

First Day of Kindergarten 2 Page Layout

Here is a layout of my son's first day of Kindergarten I did for a challenge on 2Peas. It's for the March Super Sketch with Kelly Purkey. I really like how it came out with the folded edges and distress ink. (The second layout isn't for the challenge - it's just a part of the 2 page layout.)
